Tesla Universal Wall Connector Review
The one charger that works for everyone. The Universal Wall Connector pairs the NACS Tesla handle with a built-in J1772 adapter — charging Tesla vehicles, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Chevy, VW, BMW, Rivian, and virtually every other EV at 48A / 44 miles of range per hour.

Our Verdict
The Tesla Universal Wall Connector earns its top ranking by solving the most common EV household dilemma: "What happens when we buy a second EV that isn't a Tesla?" The built-in J1772 adapter means you never have to ask that question. One charger, mounted once, handles every major EV sold in North America today — and for the foreseeable future.
Everything else about the hardware is identical to the standard Tesla Wall Connector: 48A / 11.5 kW, 24-foot cable, NEMA 3R weatherproofing, Wi-Fi, Tesla app integration, and power sharing for up to four units. The premium over the standard Wall Connector ($200) is paid back the first time a guest, family member, or second vehicle with a non-Tesla plug needs a charge.
The only real limitation is the hardwired installation requirement and the higher up-front cost. If you are certain you will only ever own Tesla or NACS vehicles, the standard Tesla Wall Connector at $400 saves $200 with identical performance. For everyone else, this is the safest single purchase in home EV charging.
