The ChargePoint Home Flex earns its reputation as the most flexible Level 2 charger on the market. It is the only charger in this class that can be installed hardwired at full power (50A / 12 kW) or plugged into a NEMA 14-50 outlet for a simpler, more portable setup. For renters, frequent movers, or anyone not yet ready for a permanent hardwired installation, this flexibility is a legitimate differentiator.
Smart features are mature. The ChargePoint app has been around for years, and it shows — scheduling, real-time energy monitoring, and utility rate integration work reliably. The ChargePoint network also opens up fleet and commercial use cases not available on purely home-focused chargers.
The price is the main sticking point. At $549, the Home Flex costs nearly three times as much as the Emporia EV Charger, which matches it in charging speed when hardwired.
